I had to buy penny stocks and get slammed with losses before I started realizing that stocks were pieces of businesses… and not just a stock ticker with a little number attached to it. This realization has made me so much money. Especially in this turmoil market of opportunity.
Read up on famous investors such as warren buffet, george soros, seth klarman. They are intelligent investors. There are others, but these were my 3 idols. It’s not the stocks that they buy that influence my decisions, it’s their way of thinking. ***** their minds, and open up the cave that leads to the gold mine.

Read cnbc and bloomberg. There are also a lot of good stock market blogs out there. Yahoo Finance is the best source for researching stocks, mutual funds and etfs. good luck
