Investing in Chip Making Innovation — Inside Intel’s Fab

This “Invention, Innovation, Investment” video was first shown by Intel CEO Paul Otellini in Washington DC on February 10, 2008, when he publicly shared Intel’s plan to invest $7 Billion over the next two years to create new, cutting edge chip manufacturing facilities in the US This footage shows how Intel is moving from manufacturing microprocessors using 45 nanometer circuitry to even smaller 32 nanometer circuitry.

Is it wrong to assume? I dont think so. Have you seen the recent fine that intel got dropped with? 1.5 BILLION dollars. They have been paying manufacturers to favor using Intel chips. If that’s fair market competition then Ill gladly put my thumb in my mouth and stop babbling. Go to google and look for yourself just type in “Intel EU Fine” Looks like sabotage to me! Pretty shady business practices if you ask me. Ball is in your court! Have fun defending that one

It’s wrong to assert that if AMD wasn’t around, that market competition would not exist. IT ALWAYS exists. There is nothing stopping me from getting together with some friends and making our own prototypes and looking for investors, if I thought Intel was gouging people. And if you were to say that Intel would “sabotage” you somehow, if there was proof of it, the media would pick it up and there would be a firestorm! Intel is not stupid they know the most important asset is their Brand name.

Do you guys even realize that if AMD wasn’t around to provide market competition, Intel would run full control of the market and be able to charge whatever prices they wanted to? Just because you don’t like their products doesn’t mean they are bad. Im happy that these two companies fight for better technology because the people who benefit in the end are the consumers who pay a lower price and receive fantastic product. I love AMD they build solid chips. Ive got no complaints.
